What Services Do I Offer?

Teaching is the joy of my life. Nothing excites me more than helping people become more confident in their abilities. This is whether these skills are for your pursuit of your dreams to be an actor or if you want skills to find more confidence in presentations and interpersonal communication.

I fundamentally believe that the true voice is the "authentic" voice. It is the voice that uniquely belongs to you. It is easeful, expressive, dynamic and ready to be shared with the world. I want to help you find the confidence to let your inner light shine and share it with the world.

Not all methodologies work for everyone. That's why I tailor my training background into an integrated approach that incorporates voice, movement and acting techniques. These elements don't function independently of each other and require development of the "whole" instrument that further cultivates the "body/mind" connection. I use the voice and speech techniques of Kristin Linklater, Pasty Rodenberg, Louis Colaianni and Edith Skinner, as well as study with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). As I feel there is commonality and useful quailities in all acting techniques, I incorporate my extensive study in the acting and textual analysis work of Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, and Michael Shurtleff. My movement training includes my study in Viewpoints, the Alexander Technique, Laban and extensive training in Dance.

This integrated approach will help you find solutions to ease habitual tensions in the "body/mind" connection and patterns that may be impeding you from being the most expressive "you" that you can be. I offer personalized services for individual coaching, group settings, master classes or if your production needs help with dialects or bringing vocal & physical life and more expressiveness to the show. It's important to realize that it doesn't matter if we work face to face, or online half way across the world, I know that I can help you find solutions to refining your craft,  "on any stage at any stage" of your career. (See what I did there. I love language!!!)

If your needs are to develop skills that are for the business/non-theatre world, you will find that I adapt these techniques in a way that is exciting and will not only give you the practical training you are seeking, but will ignite your imagination as well. So don't worry, I worked in the corporate world as well. I am very down-to-earth, accessible and can work at any pace that makes you feel comfortable.

It doesn't matter if you are 8 or 88, it's never too late to explore the world of acting. So, if you want to train for a career in the industry, get ready for those daunting college auditions or just want to recharge your skills for your current career, we can work together. Maybe you've always been curious about performing and never had the opportunity or the courage. I can help. Or, if you would just like a little more confidence in your presentation or public speaking skills, I can make this a reality.

So whatever your reason to seek out training, finding the right teacher is important. Great teachers only create, they never destroy a student's comfort. I want to share the two mantras that I live by and integrated into the philosophy that is the basis of all my teaching:

"(I) You have the right to speak."

"I am me. I am enough."

So, let me show you just how enough you are and how we can bring out more of your best "you." I already believe in you when you walk in my door (or my Zoom room). Let's play together and unleash more of the fabulousness that is already there inside of you.

Wish Upon a Moon by Rachel Ulloa

There’s a full moon in the sky.
Oh, how I love to speak to you with my eyes.

From a distance, I throw you my wish and I never miss.
WISH UPON A MOON

Just like the stars, my wish on the moon shines so bright.

WISH UPON A MOON.

My wish lies upon the moon so gracefully.

I stare at the moon and I wait patiently.
With a smile on my face and a rope in place.
WISH UPON A MOON.

When you are ready to grant me my wish.

I would know it was because I was courageous.

I believed I could rope the moon with hope, determination, persistence, and patience.

WISH UPON A MOON.
